Serves of the core food groups provided by Healthy Choice meals
When considering prepared meals and mixed recipes in meal plans, it can be difficult to calculate exactly how the meals fit in with food group recommendations from the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating (AGHE).
To take the guess-work out for you, we’ve prepared a handy guide detailing the quantities of vegetables, breads and cereals, meat and dairy that can be found in Healthy Choice meals.
For adults, the AGHE recommends a minimum daily intake of:
- 5 serves of vegetables and legumes
- 4-6 serves of breads and cereals
- 2 serves of fruit
- 2 serves of milk, cheese and yoghurt
- 1 serve of meat and alternatives
- 0-3 serves of 'extras'
